A Technical Website for Powerworks - Mobile Power Systems for the Military, Public Services, and Industry

How do you design a website that speaks the language of the military, uniformed services, and industry from the first second? For Powerworks, Marineworks' competency center for mobile power systems, precise audience segmentation and concrete technical data - not marketing slogans - were key. See how we built a site for such a demanding, technical buyer persona.

project type: Website | technology: Astro / HTML

About the Client

Powerworks operates as a specialized platform of Marineworks S.A. - an international supplier of yacht and marine systems, with whom Sixteractive works regularly on successive digital projects. Powerworks brings together Marineworks' expertise in mobile electrical power systems, energy storage, and electric drives, aimed at the defense and industrial sectors.

The company distributes systems from the Dutch brand Whisper Power, among others - a manufacturer that has shipped more than 20,000 systems to 70 countries since 2007, designing and manufacturing them entirely in-house at its own 5,500 m² facility in the Netherlands. It's this brand - specifically its flagship OctoPower line of hybrid systems - that forms the backbone of the offer presented on the site.

Goals and Challenges

From the first few seconds, the Powerworks site had to communicate the brand's narrow specialization and speak the language of a very specific, technical buyer persona - representatives of the military, uniformed services, special-vehicle manufacturers, government institutions responsible for critical infrastructure, and industry. This couldn't be a generic "about energy" website - it had to hit the exact language and real questions asked by an engineer or decision-maker choosing a power system supplier for applications where failure isn't an option.

An additional challenge was translating highly technical, engineering-heavy product knowledge (noise levels, fuel consumption figures, energy capacity) into content that builds trust without overwhelming the reader with jargon.

Implementation - Step by Step

Market Segments

The site immediately divides visitors into clearly defined segments: special-vehicle manufacturers, government institutions and critical infrastructure, the military, professional clients, and industry - with an additional "Your Industry" option for visitors who don't fit neatly into any category. This layout lets any visitor confirm almost instantly whether Powerworks meets their needs.

Communicating Value in the Language of the Defense Industry

The new site says far more about the club itself than its predecessor did. We added a Club History page, covering nearly three decades of MKSz Rybnik's activity, as well as a Coaches page introducing the people who run the sessions. This lets visitors - whether parents looking for activities for their kids or people simply interested in chess - get to know the people and history behind the club before they even reach out.

One of the key elements of the new site is the Sponsorship Offer page - something the previous version of the site didn't have at all. Like many local sports initiatives, the club relies heavily on sponsor support and funding from the city budget. A separate, clear page with an offer for businesses is meant to help the club reach potential partners and make it easier for them to decide to lend their support.

Product Offer: From Generators to Galvanic Isolation

The "Our Solutions" section presents the full range of Powerworks' capabilities - generator sets, solar systems, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), gearboxes, and galvanic isolation - rounded out with a service offering. Each category is described briefly and specifically, without long marketing copy, letting technical visitors quickly grasp the product range they're dealing with.

Case Studies as Proof in Practice

Credibility is reinforced by the Case Studies section, showcasing real deployments in extreme conditions. These are concrete proof of the systems performing under exactly the kind of conditions they'll face at the client's site - not claims, but documented results.

An Extensive FAQ as an Education and Sales Tool

We opted for a very detailed FAQ, answering the questions technical decision-makers actually ask. The answers include concrete, verifiable data: fuel consumption cut by up to 80% (for example, from 70 liters a day under continuous operation down to just 3.5 hours of generator runtime thanks to the OctoPower system), a noise level of 65 dB(A) at a distance of 7 meters, and an installation weight reduction of over 100 kg when switching to lithium batteries (Lithium Power Plus, LiFePO4) compared to traditional lead-acid solutions.

The FAQ also explains technical points relevant to special applications - including the clean sine wave output of the inverters (crucial for powering sensitive electronics, servers, and communication systems) and real-time remote monitoring of system performance via 4G/5G (WhisperCare) and the local OctoView 3 panel.

Results

The result is a website that precisely communicates Powerworks' narrow, technical specialization and speaks a language its real buyer persona recognizes - from the military and public services, to special-vehicle manufacturers, to industry. Thanks to the HTML + Astro build, the site loads instantly regardless of device, and the extensive FAQ, concrete case studies, and clear description of the system-selection process let visitors verify the brand's expertise on their own, even before the first sales contact.

You can see the results at powerworks.eu.

Summary

Powerworks is an example of a site built around a very specific, technical niche - where effectiveness isn't driven by a universal message, but by precise language and hard data that the buyer persona recognizes as credible.
