Building a Website - From Concept to Ongoing Support

In this case study, we don't just walk through the process of building a professional website - we also show what clear communication and adapting to changing client requirements really mean to us.

project type: Website | technology: WordPress

In this case study, we don't just walk through the process of building a professional website. We also show what clear communication and adapting to changing client requirements mean to us. This project proves that a collaboration doesn't have to end the moment a finished site is delivered - it can also include comprehensive technical support and one-on-one training that contribute to our clients' business success.

About the company

LAKMA is a Polish manufacturer of cleaning products. The company came to us asking for a website for a specific line of laundry and fabric softener products under the Perlux brand.

The services our client used: website design and development, development services, website maintenance, training.

Client goals

Building a website

The client needed a professional website to serve as the brand's showcase. The goal of the site was to present the chosen product line in an attractive way that's consistent with the brand's visual identity.

An English-language version

Besides the Polish version, the goal was to create an English version as well, to ensure consistent communication across international markets.

WordPress know-how

Our client also wanted training so their team could gain the knowledge and skills needed to manage the CMS - in other words, to be able to manage the new site themselves once the project wrapped up.

Implementation - step by step

Consultations to discuss the details

We started our work with a detailed interview with the client to understand their needs and precise goals. At this stage, we could plan which materials the client would provide and which we would create from scratch. This joint analysis let us put together a strategy and timeline.

Building the website

We chose WordPress to build the site. It's an excellent choice for informational, "business card"-style websites. An intuitive interface, the ability to customize templates, and easy content management - even for people without advanced technical knowledge. These were all important factors for our client, who wanted the new site to be easy to manage.

At this stage we moved on to planning the content layout and the number of subpages, then started working with the materials we received from the client. As we refined the text and graphics, we adapted them to the agreed site structure, keeping visual consistency and clarity of message in mind.

Follow-up consultations and revisions

As we built the site, we ran into new challenges. The client's initial assumptions had shifted, so some of the new guidelines no longer matched our earlier agreements. To keep the project on track toward the expected results, we decided to consult with the client again and clarify the next steps. This time we opted for direct communication - a meeting at our office.

This let us review the work done so far and reassess every element of the project in light of the client's new requirements. That in-person conversation turned out to be a key moment in our collaboration. Meeting face to face let us clear up any doubts immediately, propose the best solutions, and set new directions for the work.

The site was then expanded with additional sections containing new content created by our team. We also added extra graphics that matched the client's guidelines.

Additional elements, linking, and responsiveness

The Perlux site is meant not only to present the new product line clearly and attractively, but also to direct potential customers to the manufacturer's online store. So we added the necessary links, made sure the CTAs (calls to action) were clear, added downloadable files with product information (ADS), and included the required legal documents.

Once the content work was finished, we moved on to making sure the site was responsive. We made sure the site looked attractive and worked smoothly on both large computer screens and smaller smartphone and tablet screens. This is a very important factor in building a positive user experience and boosting engagement with the site.

Throughout the entire process of building the website, we stayed in regular contact with our client and kept them informed after every completed stage. There were times when, after certain elements had been implemented, the client changed their mind and asked for further changes. Situations like that are completely normal in web development - sometimes it's only once you can see the final result that you can spot areas for improvement that weren't obvious at the design stage. Thanks to open communication, we were able to respond quickly to feedback and make the necessary corrections. As a result, our client received a website that perfectly reflects their vision and meets their expectations.

Translating the site

The last step was translating the site into English. To round things off, we added a clear button that lets users switch smoothly between the two language versions. This means users can freely choose between the Polish and English versions of the site, increasing its accessibility and usability.

WordPress training and technical support

Once the site was delivered, our collaboration didn't end there. We also took care of technical support - including improving schema.org markup, implementing reCAPTCHA, and adding Consent Mode V2, the mechanism for obtaining cookie consent. This means the site meets Google's latest legal requirements and complies with personal data protection regulations.

Beyond one-off tasks, we also offer ongoing website maintenance. This includes regularly updating the site and its plugins, technical upkeep, and reviewing and verifying compliance status. Every month, we're available to the client for a one-hour, one-on-one consultation. During that time, we clarify specific questions or make changes to the site to adapt it to any new needs or market trends.

We also organized a dedicated WordPress training session for the client. During the meeting, we covered all the key features of the admin panel, such as adding new blog posts, editing content, and managing media. This gave the client the knowledge and confidence they needed to manage their own site, letting their team handle its content independently once our collaboration wrapped up.
