Letter V5 terms in the glossary

Marketing, e-commerce and advertising terms starting with the letter V. Each one explained in plain language, with links to related terms.

Vector graphics

A type of computer graphics in which the image is described by mathematical formulas (shapes, lines, colors) rather than a grid of pixels.

It can be scaled up or down without loss of quality, making it ideal for logos, icons, and illustrations that require precise, sharp shapes at any size.

Video ads

Ads in the form of video, shown on platforms like YouTube or Facebook - an effective tool for building reach and engagement.

Well matched to the target audience and campaign goal, they can increase brand awareness, interest in the offer, and the number of conversions.

Visual consistency

A design principle ensuring a uniform look across an entire product or site - the same colors, fonts, icons, and styles everywhere.

Makes it easier for the user to orient themselves and interact, and for the brand to build recognizability regardless of which subpage a visitor lands on.

Visual identity

Logo, typography, color palette, photo-cropping style, and rules for laying out materials. Together they make a company’s materials recognizable before its name is even mentioned.

The value comes from consistency, not from a single mark. An identity applied inconsistently - different on the website, different in the sales deck, different on social media - doesn’t build recognition, only noise.

Vlogvideo blog

A form of blogging in which content is presented as video rather than text.

Allows information to be conveyed in a more accessible way and builds a closer relationship with the audience through the direct, video form of contact.
