Letter I6 terms in the glossary

Marketing, e-commerce and advertising terms starting with the letter I. Each one explained in plain language, with links to related terms.

Influencer

A creator whose opinion genuinely influences followers’ decisions. What determines the value of a collaboration is topical fit and audience engagement, not reach alone.

An account with a hundred thousand followers and zero discussion under its posts can be a worse choice than a few thousand people who actually talk to the creator.

Influencer marketing

Collaboration with social media creators, where the message goes out in their voice and to their community. It works because a recommendation from a known person carries different weight than an ad message.

In Poland, a paid collaboration must be clearly disclosed as advertising - failing to disclose it is a risk for both sides. Results are best tracked with discount codes or parameterized links; otherwise the effect stays unmeasurable.

Infographic

Material combining numbers, a diagram, and short text into a single image. It works well where a relationship is easier to show than to describe: a process, a comparison, a timeline.

It also tends to get cited by other sites, which brings natural links. The condition is original, verified data inside it - an infographic built from other people’s numbers gives no one a reason to link to it specifically.

Internal linking

The network of connections within a site. It guides users to related content and shows the search engine the hierarchy - which pages we consider most important.

The only ranking factor we have full control over - it requires no one’s permission. A page with no internal links pointing to it is practically invisible to a bot.

IP warm-up

The process of gradually increasing the volume of messages sent from a new IP address in order to build its reputation with mail providers and avoid being flagged as spam.

Skipping this step and sending a large volume right away from a new address is the most common reason an entire campaign lands straight in spam.
